Does Liberation Sound Like a Bubble Bursting in Slow Motion?

You can tell that I have Greece on my mind these days. It’s also all over European media and that’s because whatever she decides regarding her financial situation sets a precedent with the EU/IMF and the European Central Bank (ECB) and its other member countries. That precedent might look a little like liberation to some who have been struggling with a bum lending situation.

You might have heard that over the weekend, the Greeks voted “No” (“Oxi” in Greek) against something. The vote was against accepting another EU/IMF loan in exchange for increased austerity measures. It seems that Germany thinks Greece should get another loan to help “stimulate” the economy and pay back her loan, continue her belt-tightening measures for another decade or so, and continue trying the restrictive measures to foster economic growth. The Greeks feel that they need to deal with their economy another, more expansive way (like by having jobs for its graduating students).

Meanwhile, the French (another strong voice in the EU) seem open to the idea of adjusting the repayment terms for the Greeks. And the Greeks would rather renegotiate their loan on more lenient terms, rather than squeeze their broken economy through a tighter belt and spend the little funds their economy has on payment installments they can’t afford.

This situation sounds all too familiar, doesn’t it? I’m sure it sounds like a lot of calls people have with their mortgage lenders and credit cards, etc. There’s a point where even the collection agencies know there isn’t anything they can do.

As I have mentioned previously, I’m no economist or financial person, but it looks like there’s a bubble. And it seems like it’s bursting… Maybe this is the sound of an economic bubble bursting in slow motion…?

Yanis Varoufakis

Greek Finance Minister, Yanis Varoufakis, open about his position on Greece’s acceptance of EU Bailout terms.

1) The lending institution recognizes that it can demand repayment all it wants, but if the borrower can’t repay, what can the lender really, really do?

2) This is the point where the lessee realizes she holds a certain amount of power, but also has some compassion. After all, when the lessee borrowed the money, she really did intend to pay it back.

3) The lender doesn’t want to be too soft, because he wants to be clear that he’s serious about getting his money back. BUT, the lender doesn’t want to be too hard either because then the lessee will give him a big, fat doughnut.

4) Still, the lender begins to insist, because he realizes that his power is based on the wealth that he no longer has (because he lent it to the lessee). He wants it back — he wants to restore the structure. Keep things the way they were.

5) The lessee slowly realizes that things are a little different. Sure, she’s broke, but when you have nothing, you have nothing to lose! This realization alone becomes empowering… She feels even a little bit more sure of herself from a deep, unshakeable core and does “crazy” things like… flipping the bird to her lender and threatening … a “Grexit”. Sounds a lot like the folks who were underwater on their mortgages and just walked away. Just left their homes and said, “that’s it”.

And that’s what this is boiling down to, isn’t it?

It’s not just about the economy. It’s about the symbol of power that money lends to nations and people. And also about people realizing that it’s a symbol — only as powerful as we make it out to be.

Now, if one of the original EU nations says “Enough”, “Basta” (or whatever the Greek word is for it) and steps out of the EU altogether, what does that say for the solidity of the concept of economic, political (and even patriotic) belonging? Might other lessees, such as Portugal or Spain, say, “Hey, we want out of this lousy loan, with lame repayment plans and austerity measures that are cramping our growth!”

A nation, a person, wanting to grow on its own terms. Sounds like a revolution.

How I discovered my Akashic records

Taking the path of the knight, photo by Cynthia Luna So it might be worth taking a minute to share with you when, where and how I found out about the Akashic Records.

The Tale of How I Discovered my Akashic Records

I was going through a little rough patch with my loved one. He and I were having a hard time communicating and we were quickly moving in opposite directions. Even when we tried we couldn’t seem to say what we meant or mean what we said.

I went online just looking for some distraction, and stumbled on freerspirit.com. She had a blog post up about debunking the myths on Twin Flames and Soul Mates. I really can’t say I understood it (and I’m not sure I understand it completely even now), but I can say that a peace washed over me, and this word, “Akashic” just started ringing in my ears. It seemed so familiar, even though I had no idea what it was. I then read her webpages “My Akashic Journey” and then “Your Akashic Journey” and decided to get a reading. (Go ahead and visit her blog to learn more. I found her story thrilling.)

I submitted my questions to her that night.

The following day, I received a response from “Jen” that she would be happy to conduct a reading, and would send it to me in “a couple of days”.

By Day Two, I had already googled the hell out of “Akashic Records” and had purchased the Linda Howe’s “Discover Your Soul’s Path through the Akashic Records” on Amazon.

Later that day, I heard from Jen that she was feeling unwell and had some internet issues. All to say, that it ultimately took a week until I received her reading.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch…

During that week, I pretty much tore through Linda Howe’s book and decided to do a reading on my own. (Yeah, I can be a bit impulsive.) This was right near the end of February 2015. You can read an excerpt of that reading here.

In near synchronicity, I finally received a reading from FreerSpirit, and even though her reading was different from mine (I posed different questions to my Records for the readings) they were still aligned with each other. I just intuitively knew that this was a path that I needed to begin taking.

My process: dialoguing with my imaginary friend

On the quest, photo by Cynthia LunaI’ll come out and say it straight: my experience with the Akashic Records is mostly emotional and intuitive. I just know them to be there and feel them to be true.

But maybe you want to know “how it goes down”. Well, I basically still my mind. I usually sit in a chair near a window where I can hear weather. (It helps me feel connected with the Earth, or grounded.) Then, I focus on my breathing and relax. When I feel quieted and good, I reach for Howe’s Pathway Prayer, which you can find here or in her books.

I rest my hands gently on my computer keyboard, which is already set up on a blank word document and when I start to feel a shift in my energy (that’s tough to explain — sometimes, it feels a little like your muscles relax even more) I’ll say hello. And that’s how I think I would start a dialogue with an “imaginary friend”.

Actually, I don’t talk out loud — I pretty much engage in the conversation in my head and type everything: what I say, and what my guide(s) say(s). These conversations feel like they are about 15 minutes long, but the past few times they have taken a little more than an hour. I like to give myself a two- or three-hour window, so I don’t feel rushed. After saying Howe’s Closing Prayer, which you can find here, I’ll sit quietly and wind down the buzz. I’ll get up out of my chair, walk to the kitchen and have a glass of water, stand near a window and look out at traffic or people walking. Just “return to earth”, nice and slow.

Not getting through? Here’s a little tip…

As you know, I have surfed around the internet and read a lot about this. In a lot of comments sections, I have seen people saying they have tried to access their own records and were met with silence. Nothing. My advice is: Just be completely, 100% okay with this — and don’t let the silence discourage you. Just relax, ride out the silence by focusing on your breathing and directing your thought on a body part that you would never ordinarily think about and see if you can raise your feel-good about it. When you’re done, just say the Closing Prayer and go on with your day.

My feeling is that everyone’s experience reading their records is subtly different. Some people will channel a voice with their vocal chords and others will tap into the voice in their heads. :-) I have read that some people see images, others started by “seeing” silent movies, which later came with full-on “visions” with dialogue, etc. In my case, it’s quite undramatic: it’s a voice in my head accompanied by a vibration/emotion that feels good, manly, powerful, childlike — whatever it is that I am supposed to be understanding. Sometimes, it feels like a group of energies are dialoguing with me, other times it’s a singular vibration.

I also have a hunch that sometimes you might be in such turmoil about the situation that led you to your Akashic Records that you either can’t state your question clearly (that happened to me not too long ago) or you just can’t “hear” the message over the din of your own distress.

Again, be 100% okay with this. (And also consider asking someone who conducts Akashic readings to look into your Akashic Records about this very issue. “Why is it that every time I sit down to read my Akashic Records, I get silence?”)

You also might find later in the day after your (attempted) reading, while you’re washing the dishes or deciding which apple to pick out in the produce section, that the very message you needed to hear will present itself to you clear as a bell.

My guess is not every reading goes down exactly the same way either.

Hello World!

Welcome to my new blog, which is blatantly under construction. Hang tight, or loose… We’ll be up and running when the time is right.
